Happy Holidays ~ Feliz Navidad

Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year for me and my family! It is such a special time to reflect on the birth of Jesus Christ and to be with those whom we love most. Now that Naomi is older and Santa Claus no longer visits our home, we have made new traditions. Every year we always drive around and look at the homes that have been decorated with lights, we watch our favorite Christmas movies, and listen to our favorite Christmas music. It is so much fun to decorate our home and to make Christmas cookies. Every year I make my traditional homemade clam chowder and candy cane cookies (the cookies Grandma Burton taught me how to make) in memory of Grandma Burton. This year we received the most wonderful Christmas miracle, it snowed on Christmas. It wasn't much snow but enough to say we had a white Christmas. It has been 12 years or more since it has snowed on Christmas in this area. We spent Christmas Eve with Jeff, Cindy, and his kids, and on Christmas Day, Mom came to my home and we played games and went to Fantasy Lights, where you drive through a park that has themed light arrangements on each side as you drive through. We really enjoyed ourselves this Christmas season and were able to spend time with each other and do things that will always stay in our memory. This year we gave each other the gift of love and time together. Happy Holidays and a Prosperous New Year!!
